Educational Programs & Student Entry

PASS's member schools all cater for students with special needs. These special needs can be caused by:

  • intellectual disability
  • physical disability
  • health impairment
  • hearing impairment
  • visual impairment
  • autism spectrum disorder
  • emotional disorder
  • language disorder

Each of the specialist schools may cater for one or more of the above areas of disability.

The age of students attending these schools varies from pre-school to 18 years. Different schools have different age ranges.

Entry into these specialist schools is via assessment before gaining eligibility to the Victorian Department of Education and Early Childhood Development's Program for Students with Disabilities.

Transport is often provided to the schools depending on certain guidelines.

Staff/student ratios in all these specialist schools are high in order to best provide suitable and appropriate educational programs for their students with special needs.

For information on the Program for Students with Disabilities, contact the DEECD on 1800 809 834 or via the Web on www.sofweb.vic.edu.au.
